It all started in 1948 when Gene and Vivian Monroe moved their family to a 30 acre ranch in the small San Joaquin Valley town of Hughson, California. Originally planted with peaches and grapes, over the years the property expanded and the crops changed to walnuts, almonds and cherries.
Today, Monroe Family Orchards is run by Gene and Vivian’s son Keith, and his wife Mary, along with their children and grandchildren. Since 1978, they have sold cherries, almonds and walnuts at their home on Baldwin Road in Hughson.
